After the HSP date at Metro One, my friend and I decided to walk on over to Burwood, 2 suburbs away. The purpose of the walk was threefold: 1) burn off that carby goodness, 2) save us the price of a small ruby from taking Sydney public transport, and 3) do some serious catching up.
Why Burwood? Because you can count on finding something to do on that strip of Burwood Rd. You've got the train station, park, Westfields, and a neverending line of restaurants and eateries; whether youre after a bigger fancier restaurant to accommodate your birthday dinner, or just a small hole in the wall for a quickie fried chicken fix.
In our case after talking each other's ears off, what we really needed was a refreshing drink, and no other place came to mind but TeaPlus! A Taiwanese dessert and drinks shop which (I am just finding out right now) is a franchise with a few other stores scattered around Sydney. If you're tired of Easyway, Chatime, Happy Cup, ShareTea and what have you, then TeaPlus is an exciting change, serving more traditional recipes with a cute twist (see the first item on the menu, their House Special Plant Milk Tea!). They also serve actual meals and snacks that you won't get at any other tea place! I've yet to try these but don't worry. I am coming back.

My friend and I were lucky to arrive to see their specials menu. And what was more awesome- they were celebrating some special occasion (1 year anniversary of the store opening I believe) and they had buy 1 get 1 free! It's the little things in life that can garner the most warmth :) At the time we went, the whole cheese foam craze had just hit Sydney shores and this was the first time I witnessed it. Unfortunately we weren't feeling too adventurous that day but rather extremely thirsty, so we went after the Super Passionfruit Green Tea and Super Lime Green Tea.

| Super Passionfruit Green Tea and Super Lime Green Tea |
TeaPlus uses fresh ingredients as you can see from the actual passionfruit pulp and chunk of lime! You can truly taste the difference. I had the Super Lime Green Tea and it was exorbitantly refreshing after a long walk; not too sweet and not too sour. It's quite a tall drink as well, probably the size of a Large in most other franchises. Can we also have a moment for these AWESOME cups? The lid seals tightly. There is a little sippy part much like a coffee cup. There is a dip in the lid used to hold the little red heart. If you wanted to further seal that fresh goodness, you can use the red heart to cover the sippy part! IN-NO-VA-SHION. And what's more, there's a part where you can poke a straw through so you have the option to suck through a straw too. Amazing. The environmental impact? Questionable. Though I've actually kept my cup (the plastic is very sturdy!)- so I'd like to think of it as reusable!
Overall an excellent experience with TeaPlus, would party with them again!
